A French watch, without the French watch tax
Most French watch brands sit either at €1,500+ (Swiss-grade, marketing-led) or under €120 (rebadged generic). ALPILLE intentionally sits in the rare middle: €229 for a hand-assembled watch with a Epson VX3SE multifunction quartz movement, 316L polished steel case, ridged beige dial and full-grain leather strap. Independent, no investor pressure, no need to inflate the price.
The pricing is the gift: you can offer a serious French watch without the awkwardness of a four-figure price tag visible on a receipt. The recipient gets quality, French craft and a story; the giver keeps the budget reasonable.
What makes it a real gift
Every ALPILLE ships in a signed gift box with a numbered authenticity card, a microfibre cloth and a 1-year warranty. You can add a handwritten note at checkout (free), useful for birthdays, weddings, retirements, anniversaries, graduations, Father's Day, Christmas or simply a thank-you to someone who hosted you in Provence.
The 40 mm case is deliberately unisex and fits wrists from 15 to 19 cm. Two configurations of the same watch are available at the same price, olive green or earth brown. The watch ships with the strap you choose; the other strap is sold separately and fits in seconds thanks to 22 mm quick-release pins.
How to gift it from abroad
We ship worldwide, North America, the UK, the EU, Switzerland, Japan, Australia and most other countries, in 7-14 business days, fully tracked. Checkout supports EUR, USD and GBP, and VAT is removed automatically for shipments outside the EU. Local import duties may apply on arrival depending on the destination, generally modest.
You can ship directly to the recipient (use their address at checkout) or to yourself first if you want to add a personal note and wrap the box yourself. For weddings or birthdays in Provence, we can also deliver to a hotel or venue.

Frequently asked questions
Is the recipient going to know it cost only €229?
Not from the box or the watch. The presentation is the same as any €500+ watch: signed gift box, numbered card, microfibre cloth. The receipt is only sent to your email, not included in the package. If you want a price-less gift card included, leave a note at checkout and we will arrange it.
What if they don't like it?
14-day returns from delivery, free in metropolitan France, at the customer's expense for international returns. The watch must be unworn and in its original packaging. Refund issued within 5 working days of receiving the return.
Can I have it engraved?
Not yet, case engraving requires returning the watch to a specialist, which is not currently part of our service. We can include a printed personal message on a card inside the box (free, ask at checkout).
Is it appropriate for a corporate gift?
Yes, we ship corporate orders of 5+ pieces with a 10% discount and consolidated invoicing. Email contact@alpille.com for a quote. The 1-year warranty and after-sales service give it the seriousness expected for a milestone or retirement gift.
How long until it arrives in the US / UK / DE?
